Arizona Supreme Court Rules Medical Marijuana Extracts Are Legal
May 28, 2019 by erfa5t8
The Arizona Supreme Court ruled on May 28th that medical cannabis extracts are legal. Arizona dispensaries can continue to offer extracts and medical cannabis patients can lawfully acquire, possess and utilize extracts
under the Arizona Medical Cannabis Act( AMMA). The Court concluded:” We hold that the meaning of cannabis in § 36-2801( 8) includes resin, and by extension hashish, which § 36-2811( B)( 1) immunizes making use of such marijuana consistent with AMMA.”
Cannabis extracts are utilized to make numerous medical marijuana items such as oils, tinctures, vaporizer cartridges, edibles and more.
Arizona’s medical marijuana program has 200,000 patients, much of which depend on extracts to get their medicine. For example, clients with lung conditions should not smoke marijuana, and for that reason need an extract-made item to get their medicine.
The Court’s ruling will favorably effect thousands of Arizonans who need medical cannabis extracts for the treatment of their health ailments.
